Party Chairman's Plastic Free July Challenge

Douglas councillor, who sits on a committee charged with increasing recycling levels in the capital, has gone without single-use plastics for a month.

Andrew Bentley, who’s also our Party Chairman, undertook the increasingly popular challenge throughout July, and says it was ‘suprisingly easy’.

Andrew highlighted the positive of reducing your plastic consumption for a blog written for the biosphere.im: “Plastic-free living, when combined with composting and recycling, simply becomes waste-free living.”

Andrew comments on the authority’s recycling levels are ‘very poor’ compared to other jurisdictions, and aims to encourage greater uptake amongst the public to the local press.

To read about Andrew’s full experience with the challenge you can read the blog for the Biosphere Isle of Man website entitled “My Plastic Free July”.
