On 19 September 2023, the Isle of Man Green Party was invited by the Constitutional and Legal Affairs and Justice Committee of Tynwald, to provide a written submission upon the subject of the Isle of Man constitution. The Green Party provided its submission on 3 October 2023, a copy which can be perused is found HERE.
The Green Party’s submission to the Committee provided its views upon:
The historic canvass to today’s constitution of the Isle of Man;
The Isle of Man’s relationship to the adjacent United Kingdom;
The constitutional pillars underpinning today’s constitution of the Isle of Man; and,
The areas of the constitution where reform is urgently required for the good governence of the Isle of Man.
In reforming the internal constitutional mechanisms and institutions for the better governance of the Isle of Man, the Green Party has previously consulted upon, agreed, and published in ‘Delivering Democracy’ policy paper, a copy which can be perused HERE.
